Sirius admittedly lost Kat once he had apparently opened the door for her. He should have known better. Instead, he let his rival get ahead, and he lost precious time. Sirius tried to pump his arms and legs as hard as he could, but instead he felt burning in his lungs and he quickly got a stitch in his side. Perhaps he wasn’t quite as in shape as he used to be. During the winter he wasn’t very good at keeping up with his cardio. He would keep working out, but he wasn’t one for running on the spot or using a jump rope. Now he regretted all of it. Sure, he had muscles, but now he was losing a race to a tiny girl with legs approximately half the length of his own. It was embarrassing! He got to the top of the hill just in time to see Kat sliding down it as if she was owning the hill. Sirius took a hesitant step forward. It all came down to this now. If she fell, he could pass her, but if she kept going on at that rate he was doomed. All of his usual quick thinking seemed to go out the window as he merely watched Kat get further ahead. Finally, he tried to just run down the hill as fast as he could. Within moments his arms started to windmill, and then he fell back onto his arse and slid down the hill backward. He cursed every moment on the hill, and was therefore even more disappointed when he saw that Kat was already at the bottom. Sirius hung his head dejectedly and allowed himself to slide past the forest line and in past the trees. He may as well go through with his punishment as it was quite clear that he had lost.“You cheated!” he called back to her in a very sore-loser fashion. He stood himself up and began walking through the trees, muttering to himself in an attempt to make Kat laugh. It was crazy how dark the Forbidden Forest was. It caught him off-guard every time he went in without being in his dog-form. It felt like he went from being in day time to night time. He counted his steps, figuring every step he took covered about a foot. When he got to one hundred he turned around, cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted, “Is this 100 feet, do you reckon? I’m soooo scared,” he added, sarcastically.
