Bells couldn’t stop laughing at everything. She lay on the floor, her eyes staring up at the ceiling wondering what she had been thinking. She was perhaps way too drunk for any of this, but at this point, she was past the point of caring. In all honesty, she wanted to get up to bed and sleep in off, wake up in the morning and pretend that none of this had happened because that would have been easier for her. It was then that Zeke’s face appeared out of no where and she grinned wickedly at him. He smiled back and for a second, she was convinced that this was all a dream. She was sure that any moment she would wake up and she would be warm in her bed staring up at the four posters that hung on her ceiling. However, the longer that she lay there grinning up at Zeke, the longer that she began to doubt even that. She reached up and placed her palm on his cheek, ”You’re funny-” She answered and then giggled. He began pulling her to her feet and she realized that she had hit her head pretty hard on the way down, meaning that she probably had a concussion.
For a moment, she felt his arms around her and she closed her eyes. She leaned forward and put her head on his chest, forgetting about the throbbing on the back of her skull where she had hit the floor, ”Zeke Maxi-pad, we’re a mess.” She muttered into his jacket and kept her head there. She breathed in the scent of his clothes and committed it to memory, not sure when or if she would ever be back in the same situation. It was then that she realized that despite the fact that she was drunk, she knew that this was what she had wanted. She actually had wanted to know if he wanted to go out on a date with her. But she was afraid of the answer - classic defense mechanism for Bells.
”Maybe I should,” She answered his suggestion for bed. She knew that it was getting late, she had had too much, and she was beginning to feel the effects. But she also knew that she would probably never have the guts to do this again. But she knew that they couldn’t have the conversation here, it was much too risky. There were people everywhere and they had already seen them together; the last thing that Bellatrix needed was for her to be the center of Slytherin gossip and perhaps have to deal with Rod’s constant poking and prodding. No, she needed to get Zeke away from everyone else so that she could actually talk to him, ”Help me?” She asked quietly, looking up from her position on his chest, ”Just don’t let Rod see.” She muttered the last part quietly and then pulled away from him, tugging him toward her dorm room. She didn’t want to sleep with him, she just wanted to talk to him in a place where they wouldn’t be overheard and her room was probably the safest place that she could think of.
