[/b] She said, looking over at the man that stood next to her. More than according to plan, she was pretty sure that Bryant was half in-love with her already. And...not so according to plan, she was starting to feel something for him as well. He was intelligent, slightly socially awkward (in an endearing sort of way) but had this genuine charm about him...something that he had not seen for ages. He slipped his fingertips into her hand and unexpectedly she let out a giggle. Never had she held someone’s hand in such a personal way...normally it was all for business, but it appeared that tonight, she was going against her own advice and mixing business with pleasure.
At the mention of real food, Raven was almost positive that her stomach had just given a large growl. She blushed and decided not to acknowledge it seeing as she didn’t want to embarrass herself. Just the same, she knew that Bryant was right. The food here had been awful - over-thought and over-done - something that she would have never expected from the minister...then again, as she looked over at the woman’s orange outfit, she realized that over-done was exactly what Millicent Bagnold seemed to do best. She bit down on her lip, trying not to giggle too loudly as the pair whisked themselves out of the Minister’s Party.
Outside the summer air hit Raven and she immediately felt slightly refreshing. There was something about being in the same stiff air for too long that would make her mind feel a little fuzzy. Now that she was outside, she looked up into the night sky and breathed in deeply, loving the odd mixtures of smells that she was getting. The musty scent of her furs, Bryant’s cologne, and a hint of fried dough that must have been being made down the street. Yes, outside was both a breath of fresh air and a breath of life for Miss Monroe, ”Merlin, what a night.”
Trying to hide the blush that had crept into her cheeks, Raven kept her eyes carefully trained on the facades of the buildings that they passed as they walked through Diagon Alley. She saw Madame Malkin’s and it wasn’t until then that she remembered what he had been offering her earlier, ”You know, I don’t think that you really need to buy me clothing.”[/b] She breathed as she managed to risk a look over at him, flashing him one of the brightest smiles that she could manage given the situation, ”That being said, if you’re afraid that my attire won’t be up to par, I’m sure that we can arrange something...provided you agree to come with me to try things on. We have to coordinate after-all.”[/b] She was beginning to like the sound of this idea; new robes from Malkins meant that she wouldn’t have to worry about what she was going to wear to her next social event...yes, Raven Monroe could get used to this lavish life-style that Mr. Xavier was dangling in front of her like a hook.
He tugged her in the direction of the...not as pretty side of town and she was immediately a little hesitant, ”Knockturn?”[/b] She asked, raising both of her eyebrows. She couldn’t see a straight buttoned man like Bryant frequenting somewhere down that sketchy alley; just the same, she gave him a look before making her judgement, ”If you say that it’s good then it must be good.”[/b] She shrugged her shoulders, ”Oooh a dragon.”[/b] She breathed as she pulled him forward into the alley with her hand, ”I had almost forgotten that I was with the Wizard’s Champion. Tell me love, what are you going to do? Out-wit the dragon with ridiculous puns?”[/b] She winked at him to let him know that she was only joking, then slowly brought his fingertips up to her lips. She brushed them against his hand then pulled him further into the abysmal alley that he so desperately wanted to go down, ”I’ll have you know, I’m quite good at taking care of myself, Mr. Xavier. I’m a big girl, you know.”[/b]
