Sirius stood at the top of a corridor and rubbed his hands mischievously due to the sight that lay before him. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon and the light shone in from many windows. There was hardly a cloud in the crisp blue sky, and this alone was temptation enough for many students to go outside, many without jackets. Sirius hardly believed it was quite that warm yet, but he didn’t care. It was their lives, let them go. It made for more play room within the castle. Even the professors seemed to be turning a blind eye that day, mainly so that they could get caught up in working on making their exams, he suspected. He checked the Marauders’ Map one more time. There didn’t seem to be any professors in sight, and no one that he thought would give him a hard time. It was hard to tell, though, due to the fact that he didn’t know everyone in school. His eyes looked mostly for the professors, though. He could outrun most of the prefects, and that was important. In front of Sirius lay an expanse of green. The entire corridor had been overwhelmed by green, and not a single stone of the floor was safe from the concoction that he had put there. He figured it was time to let off some steam. With all the drama of getting Monika to become his girlfriend, and all the other high-tension situations going on, he just wanted to let it all go. Most of it wasn’t his business anyway. Most people stopped their imitations of Monika fainting at the sight of Sirius with flowers (mostly under Sirius’ own persuasion), but they also seemed to have stopped talking about him altogether. Whatever. He tried not to care. He was an adult, after all. A lion shouldn’t lose sleep over opinions of the sheep. The goo that was all over the floor was something Sirius had been working on for a while now, but only in small doses. There was no real purpose for it. It was nearly impossible to clean up, but he had discovered in large doses one could roll it up like a carpet. Where they would store such an object was beyond him, and from here on out it didn’t concern him. It was strange – it was like goo, but it didn’t have the same sort of properties. This stuff allowed one to slide around on the soft surface, but they didn’t seem to sink into it. It had the slipperiness of ice without the bruises from falling. He had yet to come up with a name for it, but he figured it was about time for him to test it out on a large scale. It was the most he had ever created but he was proud.Sirius was dressed in nothing fancy. His shirt was something he found at the bottom of his trunk (and he wasn’t even sure if it was his), and his trousers were a pair of track pants that he had borrowed from James without asking. He slipped off his shoes to reveal a pair of socks that didn’t match. He grinned broadly at no one in particular. Without hesitation, Sirius turned around and dove right onto the green goo. He turned onto his back as he slid down the long corridor and he laughed loudly as he spun around. He was lucky he wasn’t prone to motion sickness as he was spinning at an incredible rate. It felt like it took forever to get to the end, but he didn’t want to stop. He knew he had no right going as far as he did as he hadn’t dove that quickly, but he figured it was the properties of the goo. When he got to the end, he gently bumped into the wall at the end. He didn’t sink into it, like he knew he wouldn’t. It almost had the consistency of a water bed.Sirius took a breath and took a moment to appreciate what he had accomplished. He then tried to stand up, and he then proceeded to spend the next few moments to try to get to his feet, a task that seemed almost impossible under the circumstances. His clothes were stained a faint green, but he didn’t care. They weren’t his anyway.
