Zane loved March; it was beginning of a great time. It meant Spring was almost here and Summer was coming in quick order. He hated leaving Hogwarts especially knowing he only had one year left after he leaves this time. But nothing was quite as amazing as the return of the sun, grass and the beautiful surroundings. Spring at the castle was unlike any place in the world, Zane truly believed there was nowhere as beautiful. He looked at his beautiful company and realized that this was the best way to spend a day off. “I think that would be me, lucky.” He looked at her and smiled as she pushed a piece of her hair back.
He laughed as she spoke about their new friend, the cocky bird. “I should surely hope you would root for him, he’s a daredevil. He needs his friends” Watching the chess match was great and the bird was extremely entertaining to watch.
He smiled as she blushed slightly at his comment about her house and she almost seemed embarrassed. “Hey that’s the point of all this. That’s what the hat was for to place us where we belong. So we could find ourselves and those like us. Trust me it’s better to know you got the right house.” Zane wasn’t always so sure, he had the common sense and wit but he was very far from the brightest member of Ravenclaw. He was easily the black sheep of his room, everyone else knew they belonged and fit the prototypical bill of the Ravenclaw house.
Then she complimented him and he was pretty sure he was turning a new color red that even he didn’t know he could get to. He laughed as she discussed the stressing of the typical ravenclaws. “You have no idea, it stresses me out to just live in the same room with three of them.” He loved his roommates but god they stressed a lot. Way more than any human being should for an extended period of time.
She quickly shrugged away about siblings, it seemed there was a deeper story to this but he wasn’t going to push the envelope. He knew the trials and tribulations of family life and he knew most people didn’t discuss such things on a first date…wait did he just say date. No that’s not what this was, or was it? If it was, it would definitely be the best he’d ever had. He heard question and laughed softly. “So formal, love it. I do indeed, I play the drums. I love everything that makes a ton of noise when you bang it” he grinned, he loved to play and let his emotions roll into any performance. If he was angry it was a great stress reliever too, it was one of the many things he missed while he was here at school. “Okay let’s see. Whats your favorite color?” It wasn’t a yes or no question but with most things in life, Zane wasn’t very good at following rules.
