James was growing increasingly frustrated with their current predicament, and infuriated with himself for neglecting to place a pepper-up potion in his robe. Though he was only 16, he sometimes felt ancient- constantly exhausted because he was stretching himself a bit thin this year. Note to self: NEVER leave the dorm room without at least THREE vials of pepper-up. EVER. He nodded in consent to Sirius's direction, and hastily followed his friends towards the Gryffindor tower. If they were swift, they would arrive at their destination in ten minutes or less, though it largely depended on the movement of Filch and the prefects. A newfound sense of determination to reach his comforting bed kicked in, and he quickened his pace by nearly triple.
Gaining back his wits, he mockingly retorted Moony's last refrence to his weight. "Oh, no Remy! You know I work hard to keep my figure in pristine shape just for you, love. You're breaking my tender little heart." he sighed dramatically, pretending to whimper in grief. "Bugger off, I'm fit and you know it." he snapped, thought not in an overly cruel tone. Just enough bark to let Remus know that he would bite, if the need arose.
He turned his attention back to Sirius as they hastened towards their targeted location. "To take care not to bite Mrs. Norris too hard, Pads. We really wouldn't want a full scale criminal investigation before the announcement of the Wizarding Cup contestants." he released a whispered laugh, Filch would be the only man in existence to declared feline homicide. "Speaking of the cup, how did you interview go, Remus? We're counting on a Gryffindor to win it, you know. No pressure though, mate." he questioned curiously, astonished that his friend hadn't said anything as of yet. Almost there now, just another, oh, 8 minutes or so. His muscles ached for the embrace of his quilts.
