" Yah! Let's totally do it! Cool! I'll head to the broom closest and get my broom and meet you down at the pitch!" Ezra gave a thumbs up and raced, carefully of course, back to her room. Thankfully the stairs seemed to be in her favor tonight and didn't switch around on her too often. After a grueling trip up quite a lot of stairs while feeling rather full, she made it to door of the common room, the Eagle waiting complacently to ask her the riddle to enter.
The Eagle sprang to life as she stood before it.
"What travels the world, yet stays in a corner?"
Ezra thought for but a second before answering. "A stamp." The Eagle nodded and moved aside, granting her access. Ripley popped a paw out of the bag to touch the Eagle as she passed it. Something she had always done since seeing it move for the first time.
After getting her cat out of the satchel, she searched her room for her Beaters bats. She couldn't for the life of her remember where she had tossed them. Granted when she had, it was shortly after she had returned from having Mumblemumps and was quite distraught about missing tryouts. She vaguely wondered if she might have tossed them right out the window in irritation. But shortly she found them, after searching the underneath of her bed, which she should most definitely clean when she had time. The bats resembled shrunken baseball bats, as they should and were more ornate than the schools plain wooden ones. Hers were a deep brown wood, with a painted blue handle adorned with the Ravenclaw crest. She smiled at the memory of when her father had given them to her.
He had been so proud that she had made the team again, and even more thrilled that she was becoming an amazing Beater, his position when he had attended. They were commissioned from Finland and were surprisingly resistant to hits from Bludgers, and so their finish had remained nearly intact.
Once she had found them both, she summoned a few of the softballs she had charmed, then she pat her feline goodbye and raced back down the stairs and straight for the broom closet. Her broom was still there, waiting idly to be ridden. It's handle still shining with polish and its bristles relatively neat. Excitedly she grabbed it and ran off to the Pitch, nearly knocking over another student in the process.
"Sorry!"
Once on the Pitch she saw Eddie flying around. She waved to him, mounting her own broom and hovering a few feet in the air.
"Alright! So what's the plan!?"
"Well, first we let these baddies out..."She replied, opening a thick burlap bag and two softballs went whizzing out the way bludgers did. She then tossed him the other bat and gripped her own. "Now, We try not to get hit." She laughed racing upwards after one of the softballs.
